Bengaluru: In a sign of relief to the residents of the state, Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa announced on Monday that shops and establishments can open from May 19 and public transport including cabs may resume services.
The Chief Minister made these announcements after chairing a Cabinet meeting and meeting senior officials in the state.
However, in accordance with the guidelines issued by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs, non-essential activities will continue to remain restricted in the Red zones and containment areas.

All shops except those in malls may remain open from 7am to 7pm.
These include barber shops, beauty parlours and fitness centres.
The four public transport corporations have also been given the permission to operate. However, not more than 30 people can travel in these buses at a single time.
Taxis too can operate. However, only two passengers and the driver can use the vehicle.
The establishments have been asked to maintain strict physical distancing norms.
Public parks too have been given permission to stay open from 7 AM to 9AM and 5PM to 7PM.
Night curfew shall remain from 7pm to 7 am.
The Chief Minister also announced a complete lockdown on May 24.
