1. India reported 2,293 cases and 71 deaths in the last 24 hours- the highest number of cases reported in a single day.
2. Total number of COVID-19 cases in India surge past 37,000 as they now stand at 37,336.

3. The Centre on Friday extended the nationwide lockdown for two more weeks starting from May 4 till May 17.
