Rajya Sabha MP, Subramanian Swamy, also mentioned this in his tweet dated April 26.
NewsMobile fact-checked the above claim and found it to be false.
The Press Information Bureau in a post clarified that the government has made no such move. “The claim made within the report is false. Centre is neither planning nor discussing any such move, ” the post read.
Minister of State for Personnel Jitendra Singh also rubbished the claim saying, “there is no such move to reduce retirement age nor has such a proposal been discussed or contemplated. While the entire world is praising PM Sh Narendra Modi for his proactive handling of #COVID pandemic, certain vested elements trying to underplay the good work done by Govt”.
