With the death toll now topping 1.5 lakh globally and the US witnessing over 7 lakh cases, the world is witnessing a large number of fast-paced developments.

Here are the top 10 global updates this Saturday morning-

1. The total number of positive COVID-19 cases globally stands at 2,243,512, while the death till has now crossed 1.5 lakh to 154,209, as per the tally by Johns Hopkins University.

2. On the plus side, the total number of people who have recovered now stand at 569,506.

3. The total number of coronavirus cases in US crosses 700,000 (701,475), with the death toll more than 37,000 (37,054).

4. US announces $8.4 million aid to Pakistan to fight COVID-19.

5. US President Donald Trump announces $19 billion relief for farmers, as per AFP news agency.

6. China reports new cases coming from Russia. It has reported 27 new confirmed cases of COVID-19; 20 of the new cases were in Heilongjiang province, including 13 Chinese nationals who had returned recently from Russia. The land border with Russia has been closed.

7. With nearly 6,000 cases, surpassing the Philippines and the death toll at 520 as of Friday, Indonesia records highest number of cases, deaths in Southeast Asia.

8. France records 761 more coronavirus deaths, toll rises to 18,681. The total number of confirmed cases now stands at 149,130.

9. Russia expressed gratitude to India for sending medical supplies. Afghanistan, as well, thanked India for sending critical drugs, including 500,000 tablets of Hydroxychloroquine (HCQ).

10. Wuhan revises COVID-19 death toll upwards by 50% to 3,869 from 1,290.
