NASA didn’t predict the earthquake in Delhi; here’s the fact check

Date:

A short clip of a bulletin by ABP News is being shared on social media, claiming that NASA had predicted that a massive earthquake would hit Delhi between April 7-April 15.

FACT CHECK

NewsMobile fact-checked the viral claim and found it to be false.

Since the bulletin is from ABP News, we decided to find the original report published by the media house. We found the original video on their YouTube page, which was uploaded on March 29, 2018.

In the original video, the channel has actually debunked a viral message of an earthquake that was doing rounds back then. The clip that is going viral, is the segment from the original video, where they were reading the viral message that was in circulation.

The viral clip can be found at 0:42 sec mark of the original video.

Here’s the full report by ABP News.

The Press Information Bureau also debunked the above video and said that no such predictions have been made by NASA.

It should be noted that Delhi was hit by an earthquake of 3.5 magnitude on April 12, 2020. However, NASA did not predict and has no relation whatsoever with the viral news clip.

The above information proves that the viral message is fake.
