As the national lockdown may be extended across the nation, many Southern states have already made plans for the next 15 days.
Here are the top developments from the Southern part of the country:
1. Tamil Nadu has extended the lockdown till April 30. The state has reported a total number of 1104 cases. The state has the third highest number of cases in India after Maharashtra and Delhi-NCT.

2. Karnataka has readied a plan to ease the burden in the state except in the hotspots. According to sources, Chief Minister BS Yeddurappa has agreed to permit the gradual opening of government offices, permit cabs and auto rikshaws and permit e-commerce entities to operate in Bengaluru. However, restaurants, marriage halls and public transport facilities like buses and metros will remain shut. The state has successfully beaten the curve and has reported fewer cases overall.
3. The Andhra Pradesh government will distribute 16 crore masks free of cost. Individuals will be given three masks each. This is being done to prevent the spread of the virus in the state.
4. Following the order of the State Government, the Coimbatore District Administration has banned direct distribution of food packets to the needy. They have instructed the residents to deliver through the tehsils or the district administration.
5. Idukki district of Kerala has become COVID-19 free after the samples of a suspected individual tested negative. The administration will now increase vigil over the place and continue the trend.

Puducherry- 8 cases and 0 deaths.
