COVID-19: Karnataka doubles quarantine time to 28 days after foreign returnees test positive

The Karnataka government on Monday doubled the quarantine time to 28 days as opposed to 14 days after many who returned from abroad and were asymptomatic for a long period of time tested positive way after their quarantine period ended.

Around 15 new positive cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in Karnataka, taking the total number of people infected with COVID-19 to 247, 59 are recovered and six have died, the Health Department said.

Meanwhile, the total number of coronavirus positive cases in India has risen to 9,352 which includes 8,048 active cases, 980 cured/discharged/migrated and 324 deaths.

Earlier on Sunday, the state government had announced that it was studying in-depth, “the consequences of a possible relaxation of lockdown norms after April 14 and plans to come out with a clear roadmap”, as per Medical Education Minister K Sudhakar K.
