As many as 25,500 members of Tablighi Jamaat and their contacts have been quarantined in India, the government said today. Also, of the total 4,067 confirmed Covid-19 cases in the country so far, 1,445 have been are linked to Tablighi Jamaat.
Further, five villages in Haryana which were visited by Tablighi Jamaat members and their contacts have been sealed and quarantined, the Home Ministry said today.
The number of deaths in India due to Covid-19 has risen to 109 with 30 deaths reported in the past 24 hours.
The Health Ministry today said that 63 per cent of the deaths have been reported among people over 60 years age, 30 per cent in age bracket of 40 to 60 years & 7 per cent victims were below 40 years age.
Health Ministry’s Joint Secretary Lav Agarwal also said that 86 percent people with co-morbid conditions are susceptible or at high-risk from the Covid-19 virus.
