1. The Greater Chennai Municipal Corporation has indicated that staff working in the ‘Amma canteens’ will be deployed as part of the COVID-19 containment strategy.
2. The Director General of Police (DGP) Telangana has directed the Hyderabad police to beef up security at the Gandhi hospital in the city after doctors were mercilessly thrashed by one of the victim’s kins.
3. The Madurai District Administration in Tamil Nadu has started distributing rations along with the relief amount of Rs 1000. This was given to 90,206 ration card holders in the district after practicing the system of social distancing.
4. The Karnataka Police has banned the movement of all private vehicles in the Dakshin Kannada district of the state. This area shares a border with the state of Kerala and this is being done to contain the effects of COVID-19.
5. Andhra Pradesh has reported 12 COVID-19 positive cases within a span of 16 hours in the state.
