Some of the videos have particularly targeted the Indian Muslims with a misinformation campaign on the entire COVID-19 matter.
In one of the videos, it can be seen that the COVID-19 is Allah’s NRC and only people who are meant to die are dying and that Muslims need not fear anything.
In another incendiary video, the Quran is being misquoted to discourage the habit of social distancing and saying that Indian Muslims are being specially protected by the lord.
The Researchers have also pointed towards a well planned strategy as many accounts are immediately deleted after the video goes viral.
These findings have been presented to the Union Home Ministry for further actions.
Some citizens have called for immediate action against the app and the removal of these videos.
Some have pointed towards the need for the government to reach out to every section of society and explain the importance of social distancing.
In 2019, the Madras High Court had called on the Centre to ban TikTok.
The Supreme Court then overturned the verdict that had refused to ban the app.
