There are many myths and theories about the dreadful corona virus, also known as COVID-19. It started from a wet market in Wuhan which sold dead and live animals that also included fish and birds.
Such markets pose a heightened risk of viruses passing on from animals to humans because of low hygiene standards, as they are densely packed.
The animal source of the latest outbreak has not been found yet but some theories consider the original hosts to be bats. As a result, someone must have bought the infected animal and eaten it and got infected and spread the virus.
In the nation we live in (India) our Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, has taken extreme measures resulting in lockdowns and curfews. So far, he has addressed the nation twice about how to deal with this pandemic.

He told us about the Janata Curfew, which was observed on March 22, 2020 in India where people were not allowed to go out of their houses for the entire day. On the same day, at 5 pm, we were asked to come on our windows or balconies and clap our hands or whistle, play loud music or even bang utensils. This was to appreciate all the people, like medical staff, doctors and government workers etc who are working during this period to help us.
Now the period has been extended for 21 days.
Honestly, I do not like the lockdowns because I cannot go out to play. But obviously, it is for a good reason. I still have fun staying at home. Due to this heinous disaster, so many people are getting infected and are dying every day. The numbers are only increasing! Let us all pray for these people and hope they get better soon.
What should we remember?
Just don’t panic. Maintain hygiene, wash your hands, wear a mask, stay indoors, do not go to public places and you’ll be fine.
