COVID-19: Over 10k deaths, epicenter shifts out of China to Italy

The deadly Coronavirus has claimed over 10, 062 lives globally and the epicentre has clearly shifted out of China as of Friday.

China has reported the most number of casualties at over 4000 and Italy reported over 3400.

In the last 24 hours, Italy has now reporting a total of well over 41,000 making it the nation with the second largest number of COVID cases.

Elsewhere, Iran, Germany and Spain reported over 15,000 cases.

The US has reported over 200 deaths and this promoted the authorities to declare a state of emergency and shut down the state of California.

Also as of Friday, the total number of cases throughout the world stands at 246,760 cases and China with over 80,000 cases continues to TOP the list, whereas Italy and Iran are at the second and third spots.

Amidst this, the Chinese authorities are scrambling to send assistance to the affected nations and are vehemently opposing nations and organisations terming COVID-19 as a Chinese virus.

The Chinese government will be holding a conference on Friday with Eurasian and South Asian nations including India and discussing the path ahead in combating this deadly virus.
