Jaipur: As the political drama playing out in Madhya Pradesh reaches a crescendo, Rajasthan has been chosen as the safe haven for the Congress MLAs from MP who are still in Congress’ fold and are supporting the Kamal Nath-led government.
The MLAs were flown in from Bhopal and then taken in buses to resorts in Jaipur. They are currently being kept in two groups in two hotels—42 rooms have been taken in Buena Vista where a majority of MLAs are being kept, and 10 MLAs are housed in Treehouse resort.
Rajasthan’s Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot is directly overseeing the arrangements and is deciding who can be allowed to be in contact with these legislators. No other outsider, including senior leaders of Rajasthan Pradesh Congress, are allowed to enter or meet these Madhya Pradesh MLAs.
Phone connectivity in the area where the resorts are located has been lowered. The Congress government is trying everything to keep this flock together.
As one veers off the highway, a large police presence has been put into place right till the resort gates.

The location of Buena Vista resort has been thought through very carefully. There are no other resorts, hotels or even houses anywhere in the vicinity of this place. It is completely a standalone property and hence access is an issue.
Sources told NewsMobile that state BJP teams were being monitored by the Rajasthan government to ensure that no one gets access to the Congress MLAs lodged in these resorts.
The drama that has unfolded in Madhya Pradesh is all set to continue for a few days at least. And right now, for the Congress, Rajasthan is the fortress they cannot allow anyone to conquer.
