Here’s what’s in store for the Brazilian President in India

The Republic Day 2020 Chief Guest, Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro will be arriving in India on Friday. Business issues are expected to top the agenda.

The President will be arriving in India on Friday. It is Saturday, when there will be the official business that will be conducted.
The two nations have similar development goals and common interests.

The total bilateral trade between the two countries stands at US $8.2 billion and investments at US $7 billion. The two nations will hope to strengthen this economic cooperation.

The President will be accompanied by a delegation consisting of eight Ministers, 4 Members of Parliament and a business delegation.

The President will participate in the India-Brazil Business forum meet on Monday. This forum will provide, an opportunity to business leaders from both sides to interact and build on the existing relations.

Another important area is the vital cooperation in the field of energy and animal husbandry. MOU’s in this regard are expected to be signed.

Some of the other areas of dialogue include agriculture, food processing industries; Defence and space cooperation, innovation and culture.

A number of agreements are expected to be signed between the two sides.

The President will also be the Chief Guest for the Republic day parade on Sunday.

He will meet a number of dignitaries including the President, Vice-President and the External Affairs Minister.

He will be visiting Agra before emplaning to Brazil on Monday.
