Chennai: Flights delayed? In transit and have some time to spare? By the second half of 2021, you will be able to quickly catch a movie before flying out to your destination.
The Anna International Airport will soon host a five-screen multiplex with the multi-level parking facility that is being constructed, the customers will also have a wide array of food and beverage options to choose from.
PVR limited will operationalize these multiplex theatres. This will roughly have more than 100 seats and is being built at a cost of Rs 250 crores.

This entertainment facility will come up in the complex being constructed by the Olympia group.
The stakeholders are also trying to get a hypermarket to invest in this facility. The hypermarket will have a wide variety of exotic food and beverages to choose from.
Airport Authority of India has said that the multi-level parking facility will be able to accommodate about 2000 cars.
These theatres will also be close to the Chennai metro railway station, which is located at a height of about 27 metres.
Airports in India are expanding and many of them are following a model of “airport cities”. The concept of an “airport city” is one wherein the concept of traditional airports are done away with and the airports serve as a sub-city within the city, where all modern amenities such as retail shopping, entertainment and health and welfare can be found in a single geographical place.
The Aerocity in New Delhi and the upcoming expansion of the Kempe Gowda International Airport in Bengaluru have similar plans.
The Changi International airport in Singapore, which already hosts of similar facilities is billed to be one of the best international airports in the world.
