The opposition parties will meet on Monday afternoon to discuss the current political situation in the country in the backdrop of the students’ protests and the citizenship law and the proposed National Register of Citizens (NRC).
The meeting will be held at 2 pm in Parliament annexe in which leaders of the Congress, Left parties, Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), among others, will hold talks as a united front against the BJP on these issues.

However, Bengal Chief Minister and TMC chief, Mamata Banerjee, BSP supremo Mayawati, and Aam Aadmi Party will skip the meeting.
Several protests have been witnessed across the country against the citizenship law since it was passed from the parliament in December 2019.
