The Iranian state television has reported that 80 ‘American terrorists’ have been killed in the Iranian missile attack on two American military facilities at Al Asad base and Erbil in Iraq.
Iran refers to American US military as terrorists and the US as the ‘Great Satan’. It also claimed to have destroyed US helicopters and other military equipment.
The Iranian Revolutionary Guards in a statement called it a retaliation against the killing of their commander, Major General Qassem Soleimani and warned against any American misadventure in the region. They also stated that any country hosting US troops could also be targeted. It called on American citizens to fight against their government and remove US troops from Iraq.

The Iranian Supreme leader, Ayotollah Khamenei, has termed the strikes successful and called the missile attacks as ‘a slap in the face’ of the United States of America.
Earlier, Iran has termed the killing of Soleimani as “an act of war” and “state terrorism”.
Further, Iranian officials have told the state television that their country can hit a hundred other American targets if the Trump administration retaliates.
The Revolutionary Guards in a statement said that, “to the Great Satan … we warn that if you repeat your wickedness or take any additional movements or make additional aggression, we will respond with more painful and crushing responses.”
This development follows the US drone strike on the Baghdad international airport that killed Major General Qassem Soleimani on January 3, 2020.
