US President Donald Trump in a video message that was released by the White House said that Major General Qassim Soleimani orchestrated terror attacks in New Delhi and London.
The reference to New Delhi was perhaps related to the alleged Iranian attack on an Israeli diplomat in 2012. The attack took place in Chanakyapuri in New Delhi.
The President also went on to accused the commander of the Quds Force, an elite Special Force unit within the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, of terrorising the West Asian region for more than 20 years. He said that it was an act of sadistic pleasure that Soleimani felt after every terror attack.

He went on to add that protection of American interests and ensuring the safety of the American diplomatic and military personnel is of paramount importance to his administration and Soleimani was caught in the act of planning acts against American personnel serving in Iraq.
Other important killings such as that of Abu Bakr Al Baghdadi were also mentioned.
He expressed his sympathy for all the victims of the various attacks that were executed by Soleimani and his troops. He also was hopeful of the Iranian people rising against injustice and bringing about change.
Major General Qassim Soleimani was killed in a drone strike on his convoy at the Baghdad airport on Thursday.
