It’s time to punish tukde-tukde gang: Amit Shah

Date:

Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday launched a scathing attack on the Congress, saying the party is creating confusion over the amended citizenship law.

He also asked the people in the national capital to punish the party in the upcoming Assembly elections. “I want to say that it’s time to punish the tukde-tukde gang led by the Congress. They are to be blame for the violence in the city. People in Delhi should punish them,” Shah said while addressing an event in Delhi.

“Citizenship Amendment Act was discussed in the Parliament. Nobody (the opposition parties) said anything…Once they were out (of Parliament), they started misleading people,” he further said.

Shah also attacked the ruling Aam Admi Party and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. “Arvind Kejriwal had promised he would not take a bungalow or a car and several other such things, but he took them all. His government has not completed 80 per cent of the welfare work that he promised in 2015,” Shah said.

Exuding confidence about BJP’s performance in Delhi, Shah said the time was up for the Kejriwal government in Delhi and “lotus will bloom”.

Several protests have emerged across the country against newly-enacted citizenship law which grants citizenship to individuals who are Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist, Christian, Jain, or Parsi who entered India from Pakistan, Bangladesh, or Afghanistan till December 31, 2014.
