Amit Shah didn’t touch Nithyananda’s feet; here’s the truth behind this viral picture

A picture is doing rounds on social media in which a man can be seen touching the feet of fugitive self-proclaimed godman Nithyananda. It has been claimed that the man touching his feet is Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

The caption with the picture read: “Amit shah touching the feet of the notorious Swami Nityanand.”

FACT CHECK

When NewsMobile fact-checked the above post, we found the claim attached to it to be FAKE.

Since the man’s face is not visible in the viral picture, it is quite difficult to identify if it was Amit Shah or not.

On putting the picture through Reverse Image Search, we came across an article on therationalhindu.com which featured the above picture. In the article, there was another picture of the same man facing the camera.

As we can see, the man with Nithyananda in the above picture is NOT Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

In conclusion, it is clear that it was not Amit Shah in the viral picture touching Nithyananda’s feet.
