Fact Check: Don’t believe this picture of a bear crying over trees being cut; it’s photoshopped

A picture is doing rounds on social media where a bear can be seen crying on a log while the rest of the cut logs can be seen in the background.

NewsMobile fact-checked the above picture and found it to be photoshopped.

On putting the image through reverse image search, we found it on the website of National Geographic.

“Deforestation
Trees are cut down for timber, waiting to be transported and sold. PHOTOGRAPH BY ESEMELWE” the picture caption read.

In the above collage, one can see that the bear has been superimposed on the original image using editing software.

The above information proves that the above picture is fake.
