President Kovind meets the youngest Indian Grandmaster Prithu Gupta of Modern School

New Delhi: President Ramnath Kovind met Prithu Gupta, 64th Chess Grandmaster of India, who was accompanied by Meenakshi Sahni, Principal of Modern School Vasant Vihar and Yogi Suri, President, Modern School Vasant Vihar Alumni Association at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

President Kovind expressed his appreciation of Modern School as an organisation which has stood its ground over the ever-evolving face of education in the nation. He also mentioned how schools play pivotal roles in the metamorphosis of youngsters into catalysts of global change. He congratulated Prithu for his feat, reminding him that his achievement heralds the changing face of a progressive nation, leading the world towards uncharted territories. In his message to the students, President Kovind urged Modern School to continue to ‘’be modern” and forerunners in sculpting the leaders of tomorrow.

Speaking on the occasion, Meenakshi Sahni expressed “We are very grateful to the Honorable President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind for sparing his time and meeting us. In July, Prithu became the 64th Grandmaster of Chess at the age of 15 years, 4 months and 10 days. Becoming the youngest Indian Grandmaster, his success story is fraught with inspirational snippets as testimonials of his continuous hard work and dedication.
