Did Akshay Kumar contribute Rs 1 crore for the Ram temple in Ayodhya? Here’s the fact check

Date:

A picture post is making rounds on social media according to which Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar donated Rs 1 crore for the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya after the Supreme Court Judgement.

The post features a picture of Akshay Kumar with a ’tilak’ on his forehead and underneath is a picture of a cheque worth Rs 1 crore.

FACT CHECK

When NewsMobile fact-checked the above post, we found it to be FAKE.

Firstly, on putting Akshay Kumar’s cropped picture through Reverse Image Search, we came across the original picture which did not have a tilak in Kumar’s forehead.

Further, when we closely analysed the cheque in the viral post, we found that the cheque is in the name of ‘Odisha Chief Minister’s Relief Fund’.

We also noticed that the signature on the cheque is not of Akshay Kumar.

If we compare Akshay Kumar’s signature with the signature on the cheque, it becomes very clear that that the sign on the cheque is not of actor Akshay Kumar.

We also did a Google search with keywords such as ‘Akshay Kumar’, ‘Ram Mandir’, ‘Temple’, ‘Donation’, ‘Rs 1 Crore’, ‘Ayodhya’, but we didn’t find any authentic source confirming above claims.

Hence, the above information proves that the viral post about Akshay Kumar’s donation is FAKE.
