‘Selected Pak PM’ overruled; pilgrims to pay $20 on the opening day of the Kartarpur corridor

Date:

In a yet another U-turn by Pakistan, it has decided to charge the pilgrims visiting the shrine at Kartarpur, a fee of US $20 on 9th November 2019, the day of the inauguration of the Kartarpur corridor.

Earlier the Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan also called the ‘selected PM’ and ‘U-turn Khan’ had announced that Sikh pilgrims visiting the shrine need not pay the required $20 on the inauguration day. However, now that decision has been overturned by the Pakistani authorities.

This is part of a series of flip flops by the Pakistanis. Earlier Khan had announced that Sikh pilgrims entering Kartarpur need to carry the required passports. This was against the MOU signed between India and Pakistan. DG ISPR Major General Asif Ghafoor countered the PM and said that passports would be required to travel to Pakistan.

This yet again shows that ‘Goebbels Ghafoora’ is ruling the roost in Pakistan and the ‘selected PM’ is only a rubber stamp.

Anti-India propaganda and falsehood

Pakistan continues to indulge in anti-Indian rhetoric by spreading falsehood and supporting Khalistani elements against India.

Scholar and expert on South Asian studies, Jyotsna Mehra believes that the roll back could be due to potential domestic back clash.
