Issue of connectivity is integral to both the nations, both physical and digital connectivity. In this regard, Guwahati in Assam and Bangkok have recently been connected by air. An agreement for cooperation between the Rangong port and the ports of Kolkata, Chennai and Vishakapatnam has been finalized.
Other regional and international issues were discussed between the two sides. Thailand continues to remain an important partner of India and is critical to its ‘Act East policy’.
Many connectivity projects such as the India-Myanmar-Thailand trilateral highway are nearing completion and is expected to increase connectivity and boost the development of North East India.
