Fact Checked: Indian Army didn’t hoist a white flag to collect the dead bodies of their soldiers

A video is doing rounds on social media in which a few men can be seen hoisting the white flag and it is being claimed that the “#IndianArmy is hoisting a white flag to collect the dead bodies of their soldiers who were killed by the Pakistan Army at the Line of Control clashes”

At the time of filing this report, the above post was shared by over 1,300 Facebook users.

FACT CHECK

When NewsMobile fact-checked the above posts, we found the claim to be False.

On putting the keyframes of the video through Reverse Image Search, we came across a tweet by newswire ANI, according to which it was the Pak Army who raised the white flag at LoC to recover bodies of its Punjabi soldiers killed by Indian Army.

The same video was tweeted by newswire ANI on September 14th, 2019.

According to the caption, the video was from the Hajipur Sector of J&K “Indian Army killed two Pakistani soldiers in retaliation to unprovoked ceasefire violation by Pakistan. Pakistani soldiers retrieved the bodies of their killed personnel after showing white flag”.
