The Foreign Minister of Thailand Don Pramudwinai met his Indian counterpart Dr S. Jaishankar at the Hyderabad House, New Delhi today. The Foreign Minister is on a three-day visit to India to further build on the vibrant relations that exist between the two nations.
The Minister arrived yesterday and is expected to attend the Joint Commission meeting between the two nations. This is an institutionalised mechanism to take forward the relations. A regular meeting of this commission signifies a healthy relationship that exists. Agreements on various areas are expected to be signed during this visit. The Foreign Minister is expected to depart for Bangkok on Friday.
It was only last month that the armies of both the nations participated in joint exercise titled “Maitree”.
The two Armies held counter terrorism exercises, helicopter intrusions, field exercise of joint planning amongst other activities as part of “Maitree”.
