In a video that has gone viral on social media, a passport officer in Ghaziabad allegedly abused and beat up an applicant after an argument over the validity of documents kept in DigiLocker.
DigiLocker is an online bank for issuance and verification of documents initiated by the Government of India.
Anmol Jain, the applicant, was at the Regional Passport Office in Ghaziabad to apply for renewal of his passport. However, an altercation broke out with the Assistant Passport Officer over the validity of documents provided through the government’s DigiLocker service.
