Kathua: In a major crackdown, at least three people were arrested and six rifles were recovered on Thursday morning from a truck intercepted by the police near Punjab-Jammu and Kashmir border in Lakhanpur.
According to reports, four AK-56, and two AK-47 were seized from the vehicle after the Jammu and Kashmir Police intercepted the truck near the border in Lakhanpur and arrested three.
“Today, we apprehended three members of JeM and seized four AK-56, and two AK-47, six magazines and 180 live rounds and Rs 11000 in cash. The truck was coming from Punjab side and going towards Kashmir valley. We’ll increase search operations along Punjab border.,” SSP Kathua, Sridhar Patil said.

“A truck carrying arms and ammunition has been recovered in Kathua,” SSP Kathua was quoted by newswire ANI.
