In a major setback to former finance minister P Chidambaram, the Supreme Court on Monday denied hearing his petition against a Delhi High Court order denying anticipatory bail in a case filed by the CBI in the INX Media scam.
The top court said the petition became infructuous since Chidambaram had been arrested on August 21.
The Supreme Court today will hear three pleas filed by P Chidambaram in connection with the INX Media case.

The court is now hearing Chidambaram’s petition for protection from arrest by the Enforcement Directorate (ED).
On Friday, the Supreme Court had granted the senior Congress leader protection from arrest till August 26 in a case lodged by the Enforcement Directorate (ED).
