Amid the controversy over a Zomato customer cancelled the order over ‘non-Hindu’ rider, a picture post has gone viral on social media claiming that Zomato founder, Deepinder Goyal has said that he does not want Hindu customer.

When NewsMobile fact-checked the above statement, we found that Zomato founder, Deepinder Goyal, didn’t make the above statement.

On the whole controversy, Goyal had reacted with a Tweet in which he said: “We are proud of the idea of India – and the diversity of our esteemed customers and partners. We aren’t sorry to lose any business that comes in the way of our values.”

In his Tweet, Deepinder Goyal didn’t mention any specific religion and it is far from statement which has been attributed to him.

Hence, the viral post is FAKE.
