‘Lakshya’ is a 2004 Indian romantic war drama, directed by Farhan Akhtar and produced by Ritesh Sidhwani.
Hrithik plays the role of Lieutenant (later acting Captain) Karan Shergill, who develops from an aimless young man into an army officer. It is a coming-of-age story set against a fictionalized backdrop of the 1999 Kargil War. Preity Zinta played his journalist girlfriend in the film, while Amitabh played Hrithik’s battalion’s commander, Col Sunil Damle.
Lakshya was Farhan Akhtar’s second film as director, after his debut Dil Chahta Hai. The actor-filmmaker also tweeted on the occasion, “Feels like yesterday #15YearsOfLakshya,” he wrote.
