Man Utd midfielder Paul Pogba confirms he wants ‘a new challenge’

Date:

Manchester United star midfielder Paul Pogba feels that the time is right to look for a new challenge from the next season.

Pogba arrived at United from Juventus in the summer of 2016 for a then world-record fee of 89.7 million pounds, four years after he had left United as a youngster on a free transfer due to lack of playing time.

In a recent interview that the Frenchman gave to reporters in Tokyo, he confirmed that he is looking to move away from Old Trafford this summer.

He said: “I am thinking of this: To have a new challenge somewhere else.

“For me, I have been for three years in Manchester and have been doing great; some good moments and some bad moments, like everybody. Like everywhere else.

“After this season and everything that happened this season, with my season being my best season as well… I think for me it could be a good time to have a new challenge.”

Pogba has been heavily criticised for his performances recently despite having scored 14 times this season for United.

He was recently booed by United fans at Old Trafford following the side’s 2-0 defeat to Cardiff City on the last day of the Premier League season.

Juventus are believed to be in talks with Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola and are very much interested in signing their former midfielder, who has failed to recapture his old form ever since he arrived at United.

Real Madrid have also been linked with a move for Pogba and are also seeing Tottenham’s Christian Eriksen as an alternative to him.

Pogba has made 89 league appearances in his second spell at United, scoring 24 goals.
