After Congress’ defeat in the 2019 Lok Sabha Election, a photo has surfaced on social media sites in which a quote is attributed to former RBI governor Raghuram Rajan.
The quote read: “रघुराम राजन ने @RahulGandhi की तारीफ़ की है। उन्होंने ट्वीट किया मै पूरे विश्वास के साथ कहता हूँ कि राहुल गाँधी ने इस चुनाव मे हर संभव प्रयास किया है। उन्होने जो कुछ भी किया, सब सही था! लेकिन अगर अब भी लोग झूठ और कट्टरता का समर्थन करते हैं तो यह राहुल की नहीं, देश की हार है।”
(Translation- Raghuram Rajan has praised @RahulGandhi. He tweeted with full faith that Rahul Gandhi made every possible effort in this election. Whatever he did, all was right! But even if people still support lies and fanaticism, then it is not Rahul’s but the defeat of the country.)

The claim read that the statement was posted on his Twitter, but we found a news report by newswire PTI in which he’s talking about why he does not have a Twitter account.
We found some accounts in his name but they were all parody accounts.
