FACT CHECK
When we checked the post, we found it to be misleading.
On putting the image through Reverse Image Search, we found that the picture is from 2011.
A report published in The Hindu, published on January 15, 2011, featured this image and the headline read, ‘ Syed Bukhari leads Friday prayers at site of demolished mosque in Delhi.’
According to the report Shahi Imam of Jama Masjid, Syed Ahmed Bukhari along with a large number of people offered Friday prayers at Jangpura B-Block in South Delhi, where the ‘Noor Masjid‘ was demolished by the Delhi Development Authority on January 12, 2011.
However, we also found other media reports from 2012 that suggest that archaeological remains of a mosque, supposed to be the 17th-century ‘Akbarabadi Masjid’, were found near Delhi Metro side identified for the Jama Masjid station.
The above information proves that the post is misleading.
