Fact Check: These pictures of violence are from Bangladesh

Date:

A few pictures have resurfaced on the internet claiming that they are from 2015 from Haryana where Muslims are being tortured.

FACT CHECK

When NewsMobile fact-checked the post, we found that the pictures are from Bangladesh.

The first thing we noticed was the uniform of the police. On cropping the picture and checking it, we found that this is the uniform of Bangladesh Police.

On putting the image through a reverse image search, we found one of the pictures on the photo-sharing platform Flickr. It was taken on March 21, 2013, and the title read- Police Harassment under AwamiLeague government in Bangladesh.

The other picture was published in a blog post published on IS BANGLADESH SPIRALLING OUT OF CONTROL?’

In all the three pictures, the uniform of police is the same. This proves that all the pictures are from Bangladesh.
