In a major set back for India in the ongoing World Cup 2019, opener Shikhar Dhawan, who stunned fans with his ton against Australia on Sunday, has been ruled out of the tournament for at least three weeks due to a fractured thumb.
The 33-year old cricketer was injured while he was batting before he got out scoring 117 for India. In fact, he did not take the field during Australia’s innings due to the same.
Therefore, Shikhar Dhawan will miss some of India’s crucial matches in the league stage against New Zealand, Pakistan, Afghanistan, West Indies and England.
