Ghaziabad: Four-month old survives 10-15 feet fall after accident

On Tuesday morning a speeding truck, which was allegedly driving on the wrong side collided with the motorcycle near the Chander Puri area, Ghaziabad.

A family of four was on the bike as they started their journey from Loni to Shikarpur to visit their relatives. The family consisted of a couple and their 2 children- a 4-month-old (Lalita) and a 4-year-old girl (Cherry).

A speeding truck, which was allegedly driving on the wrong side came and collided with the motorcycle near the Chander Puri area, Ghaziabad.

As a result of the collision, the family fell from the motorcycle, on the flyover but Lalita, the four-month-old girl- slipped from her mother’s arms and fell off the flyover.

Lalita survived a 10-15 feet fall from the flyover as she was spotted by a few vegetable vendors and was saved on time. However, her head was severely injured.

Lalita’s parents- Manoj and Pravesh suffered multiple fractures and Cherry escaped with minor bruises and suffered minimum impact as she was sitting in between her parents. The vendors called the Police and the family was rushed to the MMG Government hospital. They were later shifted to a private hospital for better treatment.

The truck driver claimed that he lost control of his truck while driving, as the road was narrow. The police filed an FIR against him based on the family’s complaint and the truck driver was soon arrested and taken into custody. His vehicle was also taken by the police authorities.
