8 people were tragically killed and 5 injured on Sunday night due to heavy thunderstorm and lightning in the state of Odisha across the various places. The injured have been admitted to a hospital.

The regional centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD) has earlier issued a warning regarding the weather with likely thunderstorm and lightning for 22 districts of Odisha.
People were advised to stay indoors and take apt precautionary measures.
