Watch trailer: Ayushmann starrer ‘Article 15’ trailer hits you right in the gut

Filmmaker Anubhav Sinha of ‘Mulk’ fame and a powerhouse actor like Ayushmann Khurrana together in a film based on shocking true events translate into ‘Article 15.’ The movie is based on Article 15 of the Indian Constitution which prohibits discrimination on the basis of religion, race, caste, sex or place of birth.

The makers have unveiled the trailer on Thursday and the gripping narrative, the subject matter hits you right in the gut. The film is based on true events – the 2014 Badaun gang rape.

In the film, three sisters working on daily wages are harassed for demanding a raise of merely three rupees in their daily payment. As a result of their demand and them being Dalits, two of the girls are brutally gang-raped, murdered and their bodies are hung from a tree. Ayushmann plays the investigative officer who is taking charge of the case.

The film also features Isha Talwar, Manoj Pahwa, Sayani Gupta, Kumud Mishra, M Nassar, Ashish Verma, Sushil Pandey, Subrajyoti Bharat and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayub in pivotal roles.

The trailer keeps you hooked from start to finish and Ayushmann looks amazing in his role as a cop and his performance in the trailer is par excellence.

‘Article 15’ is slated to hit the theatres on June 28, 2019.
