PM Modi’s meditation cave comes with a set of amenities and can be rented for Rs 990

The Kedarnath cave where Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently meditated is now available for rent. The Rudra Meditation Cave is not as rough as it sounds but on the other hand, it is loaded with basic comforts, including a round-the-clock attendant.

The cave was initially set up in 2018 by the Uttarakhand government to cater to pilgrims. The Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam (GMVN), which operates the facility, describes it as a “modern meditation cave”. The cave is located one km away from Kedarnath temple and comes with facilities like fresh drinking water, electricity with charging points, bed, morning tea with breakfast, lunch, tea and dinner, a 24×7 attendant who is available at a bell call and facility manager’s number in case of an emergency.

It is not lavish but it has all the basic facilities required for a modern-day monk.

But you need to follow certain rules –

The Rudra Meditation Cave must be booked for at least 3 days.

You need to undergo medical tests and only once you clear them and you are declared physically and mentally fit, you be allowed into the meditation cave.

The cave only accommodates one person.

The cave can be rented only for Rs 990.
