A picture post is making rounds on social media in which a quote is attributed to legend Sachin Tendulkar claiming that Prime Minister Narendra Modi pressurised him to contest 2019 Lok Sabha polls against Congress.
The text read: “मोदी मेरे ऊपर चाहे कितना ही दबाव बनाया, लकिन मै कांग्रेस के खिलाफ चुनाव नहीं लडूंगा| मोदी के लिए चुनाव प्रचार करने का तो सवाल ही पैदा नहीं होता”
(Translation: “No matter how much pressure Modi has made over me, I will not contest elections against Congress. There is no question of Modi campaigning.”)
As per another post, it was also claimed that Congress pressurised Sachin to contest Lok Sabha elections against BJP and PM Modi.
FACT CHECK
When NewsMobile fact-checked the above post we found it to be fake.
On searching the text on Google, none of the results appeared close to what has been claimed to be said by Sachin Tendulkar.
We further scanned through Sachin Tendulkar’s verified social media handles and there also he had not posted anything on the lines of what has been claimed.
Hence, this proves that both posts are FAKE.
