The Government will come with absolute majority, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said at the end of the campaign presser at the BJP headquarters in Delhi. He was brimming with confidence as he sat there flanked by the BJP President Amit Shah and senior party functionaries. “Confident of a full majority,” he added.
“I need the blessings of the people and people will give us more than that this time,” the Prime Minister said.
“Last mile delivery has been the biggest achievement of our government,” he said.
“We organised the campaign with much detail and not even one meeting of mine was cancelled”, Narendra Modi said. “I had the same confidence at the start of the campaign and I will get busy with my official meetings” the prime minister said.
Earlier BJP President Amit Shah detailed the massive campaign that BJP undertook during their campaign. “It will be a govt of absolute majority and NDA will get the numbers, but we will welcome any party wanting to join us,” said Shah.
Clearly the message is apparent that even though they are hopeful for a majority it is not averse to taking support should they fall short of the numbers when the results are out on May 23.
BJP President Amit Shah on the other hand said that he was confident that BJP will win more than 300 seats and that Narendra Modi will be the Prime Minister and pre poll NDA allies will be part of the government. Any other party which believes in our ideology is welcome to join in, he reiterated.
Shah said a show case notice has been issued to her and party will take a decision in ten days, and that BJP had nothing to do with the statement. However he said that her candidature was a way to protest ‘fake Hindu terror’ charges allegedly brought by the Congress post the Samjhauta attacks.
No corruption or favoritism has happened in the Rafale deal, Shah said.
We will do very well in West Bengal, Orissa, we will also gain in Maharashtra, Amit Shah said.
However, even though some journalists tried to ask their questions, to PM Modi but he maintained his stance of not speaking and deftly passed on the questions to Amit Shah saying that he will let the party President answer.
Two big takeaways came out of the presser one that the BJP was confident but also conscious of the fact that they may need other allies as well so that door has been kept open, as they say politics is the art of impossible.
