‘Avengers: Endgame’ has been a fan craze since even before it hit the screens by breaking advance booking records in India and then the weekend collections were blockbuster.
As reported by Variety, the film joined ‘Avatar’ (USD 2.78 billion), ‘Titanic’ (USD 2.18 billion), ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens'(USD 2.06 billion) and its predecessor ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ (USD 2.04 billion) as the fifth film to have gained more than USD 2 billion in ticket sales. The film beat Titanic in less than 2 weeks to cross the ticket sales and garner the second spot in the highest grossing films of all times with over 2.188 billion. The movie is now just around $600 million behind James Cameron’s ‘Avatar’, the highest grossing film in the world.
The film has also earned another title in North America by becoming the ninth biggest title ever and having earned USD 620 million domestically.
Surpassing expectations, ‘Avengers: Endgame’ became the highest grosser of 2019 in India on Wednesday after making Rs. 244,30 crore. The film also beat the record of Rajamouli’s epic period drama ‘Baahubali 2: The Conclusion,’ which created a record of reaching Rs 100 crore mark within three days of its release.
‘Avengers: Endgame’ is directed by Joe and Anthony Russo with a huge star cast that includes Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Benedict Cumberbatch, Don Cheadle, Tom Holland, Chadwick Boseman, Paul Bettany, Zoe Saldana, Josh Brolin, and Chris Pratt.
