A picture of actress Payal Rohatgi has surfaced on the internet in which she is holding a placard.
The text on the placard read: “मोदी एक धोखा है
देश बचालो मौका है”
(Translation: Modi is a cheat
Chance to save the nation)
The above post was shared by over 1,200 users on Facebook at the time of filing this report.

FACT CHECK
When NewsMobile came across this post we fact-checked it and found it to be FAKE.
On putting the picture through Reverse Image Search, we found the real image which is a similar image with different text on the placard.
The text on the original picture read: “I Am a Hindu
I have no country of my own
There are many Muslim countries but not a single Hindu country in the world
I have nowhere to go
Hinduism, oldest religion is on the verge of extinction
Pls save me and my religion.”
When we dig through Payal Rohatgi’s official twitter handle, we found a tweet dated October 2nd, 2018 in which she had posted the same picture.

Hence, this proves that the viral picture is FAKE.
On comparing both the pictures, it is clear that the picture on the right is manipulated using Photoshop software to spread misinformation.
