Case registered against Jaya Prada for advice to Mayawati on Azam Khan

Date:

BJP’s Rampur candidate Jaya Prada has landed in trouble for her ‘advice’ to BSP chief Mayawati as a case has been registered against her under section 171-G of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for making personal comments against SP leader Azam Khan.

The BJP leader had said, “Considering the comments Azam Khan makes against me, Mayawati you must think ‘unki x-ray jaisi aankhein aapke upar bhi kaha-kaha daal kar dekhengi’ (his X-rays like eyes will also stare at you).”

The case was registered on April 20 based on the comments made by Prada during an election rally on April 18.

On April 14, while addressing an election rally in Uttar Pradesh’s Rampur constituency, Azam Khan had said, “I brought her [Jaya Prada] to Rampur. You are a witness that I did not allow anyone to touch her body. It took you 17 years to identify her real face but I got to know in 17 days that she wears khaki underwear.”

Following his derogatory comments against the actor, the Election Commission had cracked down on Khan and barred him from campaigning for 72 hours.

Both Prada and Khan have contesting against each other from Rampur Lok Sabha seat, which will go to poll in the third phase on April 23.
