An unidentified man hurled a shoe at BJP MP GVL Narasimha Rao during a press conference at the party’s headquarters in New Delhi on Thursday.

Rao was addressing reporters along with BJP leader Bhupendra Yadav when the man, who later identified as Shakti Bhargava a doctor by profession at a private hospital in Kanpur, threw a shoe at him. The accused immediately nabbed by workers and escorted out of the venue.

He was identified on the basis of an identity card found lying at the spot. The shoe-pelter Bhargava has been taken to the IP Estate Police Station.
However, it was not immediately clear why the person threw the shoes.
