DMK Working President MK Stalin lashed out at the Centre, accusing it of “murdering democracy”.
“It’s a murder of democracy. In Theni, where Deputy CM O Paneerselvam’s son Ravindranath is contesting from, there is proof that Rs 1,000 has been given to each voter. Has action been taken against him? Narendra Modi is using the Election Commission against the DMK. What happened to the raids at minister Velumani’s benami house?
No one knows. Crores and crores of rupees are kept in Tamilisai Soundararajan’s residence, why no raids there? Modi is using the I-T, CBI, judiciary and now the Election Commission to interfere in elections. They want to somehow ruin these elections,” MK Stalin said to the reporters in Trichy.
Alleging that only Opposition leaders are being targeted in the country, Stalin also called for reforms in the Election Commission.
“Modi is using the I-T, CBI, judiciary and now the Election Commission to interfere in elections. They want to somehow ruin these elections,” Stalin added.
