Naidu to campaign for Congress-JD(S) alliance in Karnataka today

Date:

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu will be campaigning for the ruling Janata Dal(Secular)-Congress alliance in Karnataka on Monday for the ongoing Lok Sabha election.

On the request of JD(S) chief and former Prime Minister H. D. Deve Gowda, Naidu along with Deve Gowda and his son and state Chief Minister H. D. Kumaraswamy will campaign in few Lok Sabha constituencies, especially those having sizeable Telugu-speaking people, TDP sources said.

As elections to both Andhra Pradesh Assembly and Lok Sabha completed in a single phase on April 11, the TDP chief will campaign for his allies in other states, where elections are scheduled in subsequent phases.

Last week, Deve Gowda had addressed an election rally for the TDP in Andhra Pradesh. While Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his West Bengal counterpart Mamata Banerjee and National Conference leader Farooq Abdullah had also addressed a couple of election rallies for the TDP.

However, it is not clear if Naidu would also visit West Bengal and Delhi to campaign for the Trinamool Congress (TMC) and the Aam Admi Party (AAP).
