The Election Commission of India on Monday barred Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan and Union minister Maneka Gandhi from campaigning for violating the model code of conduct.
Khan has been barred for three days, while Gandhi will face the censure for two days starting 10 am on Tuesday.

The development comes hours after the poll watchdog barred Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and BSP Supremo Mayawati from campaigning for a similar offence for 72 hours and 48 hours respectively.
Khan and Gandhi have been barred from campaigning for violating the model code of conduct in their rallies in Rampur and Sultanpur respectively.
The EC order comes three days ahead of the phase two Lok Sabha elections.
